AODH RUADH SURGED INTO the semi-finals of the Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure Under-21 ‘A’ Championship last night with a huge win over Termon.
Aodh Ruadh 7-14 Termon 1-7
Shane McGrath’s hat-trick of goals and 1-7 by David McGurrin were the big hauls as the Ernesiders won whistling, having 25 points to spare by the conclusion.
Aodh Ruadh got their first goal after 10 minutes with Oisin Rooney palming home the first of two goals he’d score during the mauling.
[adrotate group=”82″]Six minutes later, Aodh Ruadh and Rooney got another, the same player again steering home from close range after Philip Patton’s excellent play.
A third arrived when McGurrin fed McGrath and the Donegal minor caught, turned and slotted past Conor Tinney in some style.
McGrath bagged a fourth Aodh Ruadh goal and his second before half-time with McGurrin again the architect.
[adrotate group=”37″]They were 4-7 to 0-4 in front at the break and even when Caolan McDaid netted for Termon the comeback was long since a faded hope.
McGrath riffled past Tinney for his hat-trick and McGurrin deservedly netted after Patton created the chance and substitute Daniel Warnock had time to strike a seventh Aodh Ruadh goal as James O’Donnell’s team march menacingly into a semi-final meeting with Naomh Conaill.
