The team at Donegal Daily and Donegal Sport Hub are delighted to bring news of our exciting exclusive coverage of the 2017 Joule Donegal International Rally – and a first for the county!
This year, rally fans can keep up to date with the event through our live video coverage, which will run for the duration of the three-day event from June 16-18.
We will be streaming the event online and also showing the footage via Facebook Live, ensuring that rally enthusiasts all across the globe won’t miss a gear all weekend.
The coverage will consists of live footage from the stages and include live reaction from the crews at the end of stages and in service areas.
Drone footage, live and pre-recorded interviews and the best up-to-the-minute coverage will be available.
It is the first time that such coverage will be afforded to the event – the only three-day rally that remains in the Irish Tarmac Rally calendar.
Last year, Donegal Sport Hub covered the event with a live audio stream, but the addition of video footage gives the coverage a whole new feel.
The coverage will be taken care of by Maguire Media, who have worked on broadcast productions for Sky TV, RTE, TV3,TG4 and TVE Spain. Maguire Media have worked on producing sporting events for Sky Sports in the past.
They will be supported by Theo O’Grady who has been vision mixer and one of the producers of the Late Late Show for over 15 years.
The coverage will be anchored from our studio by Charlie Collins, who has covered the Rally as a broadcaster for over 20 years.
Among our team on the ground will be Chris McNulty, who has reported on the Rally for 12 years now, and former Rally competitor Toni Kelly, who was also part of the Donegal Sport Hub team for last year’s event.
