A five star show from Alanah McDonnell was the main feature of this Ladies Junior A Final in Glenfin.

The Naomh Conaill corner forward helped herself to 4-04 of her team’s impressive total of 6-09, including a first-half hat-trick of goals.
The winners were always in control after hitting four goals in the opening 17 minutes and that was after the talented Ailbhe O’Donnell had scored the game’s opening two scores for Naomh Mhuire.
That lead was shortlived as Shana Quinn converted a Naomh Conaill penalty after Zoe Campbell had been fouled in the 5th minute. The Glenties girls then hit three more goals in a five minute spell from the 12th minute.
Danielle McDevitt started it with a good finish, Alanah McDonnell got her first and three minutes later added her second to make it 4-0 to 0-3 points, Ailbhe O’Donnell had got her third score between goals three and four.
Erica Hanna pointed a free, McDonnell got her first point but to their credit Naomh Muire battled on and Caroline Sharkey cracked in a super goal from an acute angle, and when Hanna pointed another free there was only five between them as Naomh Conaill led 4-01 to 1-05.
However Alanah then completed her hat-trick of goals with a super finish and herself and sister Aoife added points to leave it 5-03 to 1-06 at the break, Ailbhe O’Donnell had added her fourth point just before the whistle blew.
McDevitt and the two McDonnells added points while Tara O’Donnell replied for Naomh Muire and then converted a penalty after Saorise Bonner was fouled.
Alanah McDonnell hit back with her fourth and Naomh Conaill’s sixth goal and also added a point as did Nicola Gallagher and Joanne Gallagher to round off an impressive victory and a first championship title for the girls from Glenties.
