A PENALTY FROM Michael Place was enough for Finn Harps to win all three points against Cobh Ramblers on Saturday.
Cobh Ramblers 0-1 Finn Harps
The win means that Ollie Horgan’s team have now not conceded in 469 minutes, since Georgie Kelly scored for UCD in the 3-1 win in Ballybofey.
Place scored the only goal of the game in the 65th minute from the spot and the win means Harps are now in joint second place with Drogheda United and look likely for a play-off spot for promotion.
Keith Cowan was sent off in the last minute.
Harps goalkeeper Ciaran Gallagher made a fine save from Charlie Fleming on 25 minutes, with his feet. Then, at the other end, Jesse Deevers was narrowly off target with a header following a cross from Place.
The breakthrough came when Deevers was fouled by Paul Hunt and Place made no mistake from the penalty.
