DONEGAL OPENED THEIR McGuigan Cup (Ulster Under-17) League against Fermanagh in Irvinestown this afternoon.
Before the game was about to throw-in, the Donegal management said they were unwilling to reveal their team to the media in attendance at the Bawnacre Centre but did say that he would pass on details afterwards.
Francie Friel’s Donegal went onto win the game 3-11 to 0-5 and face Tyrone, away, in two weeks’ time in their next fixture.
Donegal and Tyrone will also meet in the quarter-finals of Ulster Under-17 Football Championship at Healy Park in Omagh on Sunday, May 6.
The age for a minor footballer will drop from 18 to 17, so Central Council decided to play a special U-17 championship 2017, which is the last year the minor age limit will be 18 years.
