Raphoe ABC’s O’Donnell knows Quigley better than most, having worked his corner at the 2010 Irish senior final against Darren O’Neill – and he has tipped the Finn Valley man for the top.
“It was a great display,” O’Donnell, who was ringside last night, said.
“He blew him out of the water and it’s just a case of another one bites the dust. It’s onwards and upward now for Jason. It’s fantastic for Jason.
“He’s come a long way since he won his first Donegal Novice title in the Raphoe gym in 2002.
“It was a devastating performance by him, very explosive and the power is getting better all the time. He’s coming of age as a good, power-punching middleweight.
“He has it all now. He is the complete package. He has great skills and great ring craft.”
Quigley, who is now 12-0, is expected to be back in action in late January.
“It’s a big year ahead. 2017 will see him climb all the time. The more contests he gets now, the nearer he’ll be to a world title. We haven’t seen the best of Jason Quigley yet. He knows where he wants to go – and he has the tools to get there.”
