HERE’S A full roundup of all the Inishowen League action from this weekend:
Ulster Junior Cup
Glengad United 4 Greencastle FC 0
Greencastle started well with a lot of possession without threatening. But they fell behind on 8 minutes when Matthew Byrne fired a superb 20 yards free to the top corner past Puaric Carey Doherty.
The home side increased their lead when Paddy McDermott fed Nigel McMonagle who curled a sublime effort into the top corner on 22 minutes.
Just before the break McDermott and Terence Doherty combined for the latter to round the keeper but see his effort from a tight angle rebound off the post.
On the restart the visitors had the first chance when Matthew Henry fed Jamie McCormick whose effort was well saved by Kevin McLaughlin.
On 55 minutes Shane Canning released Terence Doherty over the top but keeper Doherty smothered well.
Glengad made it three on the hour when Stephen McLaughlin broke on the right and squared for McDermott to fire to the roof of the net from twelve yards. Greencastle replied with both Matthew and James henry seeing free kicks saved by McLaughlin.
Glengad completed the scoring on 88 minutes when Matthew Bryne advanced past two defenders before rounding the keeper and slotting home.

Culdaff FC 1 Dunree United 1
The visitors had the first chance of the game when James O’Donnell raced clear but Darragh McLaughlin stood tall to turn the ball behind for a corner.
Culdaff replied and a superb Josh Conlon cross just eluded Michael Coyle at the back post before a typical Brendan McLaughlin mazy run into the area was stopped by a brilliant Ryan Bradley tackle.
McLaughlin then had an effort well saved by Philip Doherty in the Dunree goal while on the stroke of half time at the other end Darragh McLaughlin again saved from a one on one with O’Donnell.
Dunree took the lead on 48minutes when a Liam Baldrick ball over the top found Oisin O’Flaherty and he fired a superb effort to the top corner.
Culdaff replied with McLaughlin releasing Coyle but from ten yards out his low effort was brilliantly saved by Doherty.
Darren Mularkey cut in from the left and his right footed cross was cleared by Bradley.
The home side’s pressure told on 68 minutes when a long kick out by McLaughlin found Coyle who laid the ball into the path of William Hutchinson and he fired home from twelve yards.
Dunree almost regained the lead when home keeper failed to collect a ball well outside the area allowing O’Flaherty to fire goalwards but Ryan Greene got back to head clear.
Culdaff pressed late on but Dunree were good value for their point.

The home side bounced back with a superb win after two straight defeats. A superb early cross from Stephen McHugh found Bart Wesoloski but he headed wide from ten yards.
McHugh then flashed a long range free wide before the home side broke the deadlock when Donald O Doherty tapped home from close range after the Aileach defence failed to clear.
On the restart Buncrana increased their lead when McHugh headed the ball across for O’Doherty to power a header to the roof of the net.
Aileach came into the game and created two good chances but Jordan McGeady fired wide when well placed before Darren McMonagle headed just wide.
On 71 minutes Adam Duffy fired a brilliant long range effort to the top corner for a superb goal.
They sealed the points on 85 minutes when McHugh converted a penalty awarded after Wesoloski was upened in the area.

In a very hard fought closely contested contest the home side started well and Darragh Deery sliced his effort and when it fell to Shane Doherty he fired narrowly over.
Ryan Mclaughlin then had a shot on the run which just cleared the angle of the post and bar.
Clonmany settled and took the lead on 36 minutes when Paul McDermott won possession and crossed for Mikey Friel to fire past Daniel Houghton from six yards.
Carn equalised within minutes when Ryan Kelly and Shane Doherty played a one two for Doherty’s low cross to be slotted past Patrick Harkin by Deery.
The second half saw both teams contest well and the visitors took the lead again midway through the half when Michael Devlin pulled the ball across goal for Ferghal Harkin to drill low past Houghton.
Carn replied and a Ronan Doherty effort just cleared the bar while a Darragh Deery effort was saved by Harkin.
On the break Clonmany had the final chance when a Devlin effort was brilliantly tipped over by Houghton.
Strand Hotel Division One
QPS Reserves 1 Sea Rovers 2
Rovers avenged their cup defeat at the same venue a few week ago. But the home side had the first chance after Josh McConalogue crossed from the right but Denim Mclaughlin headed over.
The same player had an effort from distance which clipped the top of the bar midway through the half.
Rovers replied on 33 minutes when Kieran McNicholas found space but his low effort was well held by David Bell. Rovers broke the deadlock when a long ball released Kieran Doherty and he slipped the ball low past the advancing Bell on 37 minutes.
They had another chance on 41 minutes when Doherty fired over from a good position.
Before the break Doherty fired wide at the back post after a Damien Ward corner.
The point started the second half well and when Declan Bown crossed McLaughlin unmarked headed wide from ten yards.
The point did get back on terms on 64 minutes after McConalogue played a one two with Bown before firing low through a crowd of players and into the bottom corner.
Rovers replied and a 25 yards Ward free was well turned behind by Bell and from the corner Doherty fired wide at the back post.
Rovers regained the lead on 76 minutes when Ward fired a 30 yards free to the top corner despite Bell getting a hand to it.
The home side tried to get back into the game and Mclaughlin’s free was well held by Glen Watson before on 86 minutes McConalogue’s cross found Christy Harkin who fired wide from six yards.
Their best chance came in stoppage time but Kevin Wallace headed a Paul Grant effort wide.

This is the fourth time the home side have registered a draw in their ten league games.
They started well and when Ronan Coyle fed Stephen O’Donnell with a clear sight of goal he dragged his effort poorly off target.
On 11 minutes a superb dummy from O’Donnell released Coyle and the veteran striker calmly slotted low to the corner.
Midway through the half the home side’s Ruairi Bradley volleyed over after a corner.
Before the break a defensive error allowed Damien Friel to pounce and fire a superb effort to the top corner from the edge of the area.
The home side then regained the lead on 53 minutes when O’Donnell fed Bradley on the left and he cut in to fire a brilliant effort to the top corner.
Rasheney stuck at it and drew level again when Matthew McLaughlin latched onto a long ball and lobbed the advancing David McGeady.
Aileach had a late chance to snatch the points but O’Donnell curled the ball the wrong side of the far post when well placed.
Redcastle United 5 Carrowmena FC 1
Redcastle went ahead on fifteen minutes when Cathal Crumlish collected a Kevin Toner cut back and placed the ball beyond Bredin into the left corner.
Paul McGowan made it two minutes later slotting past Bredin after being played through by Crumlish.
On 27 minutes Brendan Murphy made it three when he beat the offside and finished neatly.
Carrowmena were then reduced to ten men when Christy McGeoghan was shown a straight red for indiscipline. Carrowmena got one back when Dean Mc Geoghan was
upended and Conor Radcliffe converted from the spot. The home side hit back when Murphy laid off to Kevin Toner and he blasted past Bredin from just inside the box.
The second half began with the home side on top and Robert McLaughlin tested Bredin with a low shot that the keeper blocked with anout stretched leg. Redcastle went further ahead when a move involving Toner and Mc Gowan set up Murphy who side footed home from just inside the box.
Carrowmena responded and were denied by home keeper McCole who tipped a goal bound free kick from Radcliffe over the bar.
The remainder of the game was largely uneventful and failed to produce any more goals as the home side eased to victory.
Illies Celtic 4 Moville Celtic 2
There were few chances in this game until the visitors opened the scoring on 21 minutes when a Conor Doherty corner deflected off a defender and into the net. But Illies responded and both Michael and Martin Coyle had efforts go over the bar. The home side equalised on 33 minutes when the ball broke inside the area to Marty Coyle and from 12 yards he fired low past McGuinness.
On the stroke of half time a Dominic Coyle cross found the unmarked Michael Coyle at the back post but he headed wide.
Illies started the second half well and took the lead when Stephen Doherty fired a superb effort to the top corner from twelve yards after a great pass from Paddy Doherty.
Stephen Doherty then blazed wide when well placed before Moville broke with Conor Doherty releasing Michael McNaught to drill low past Johnathan Noone.
Illies regained the lead when Stephen Doherty pulled the ball back into the path of Michael Gallagher and he fired high past McGuinness.
Michael Coyle had a chance but blazed over but with Movill pushing Illies broke on 87 minutes when David Doherty advancing and crossing for Dominic Coyle to tap home.

The visitors started the game well and on 8minutes the home defence stopped appealing for a ball out of play but Jake Harkin advanced and crossed for Aaron Harkin to tap in at the back post.
But midway through the half the home side equalised when after Sean Doherty’s free kick rebounded off the wall to the same player he lashed it past Liam McGonigle from twenty yards.
Clonmany responded and Jake Harkin headed narrowly wide at the back post before they regained the lead when Conor Doherty fired a stunning effort to the top corner from twenty yards. Clonmany seemed to settle for what they had and were content to protect their lead in the second half.
They made it very difficult for the home side who struggled to create chances.
On 65minutes a Thomas Doherty effort was well tipped onto the bar by McGonigle.
On 83 minutes Cockhills persistence paid off when Darragh McDermott found space inside the area to fire low past McGonigle from twelve yards. McDermott almost won the game for the home side when a twenty five yards snapshot was gathered at the second attempt by McGonigle.
Inishowen Engineering Division Two
Culdaff Reserves 2 Dunree Reserves 2
Culdaff dominated the opening period of this game and on 2 minutes Aiden Cunningham fed Bryan McCandless but his effort was well saved by Simon Taylor.
They broke the deadlock on 8 minutes after a superb Jack McLaughlin cross found Niall McLaughlin who headed to the roof of the net from eight yards. The home side were unlucky then after Cunningham’s effort from wide on the left crashed off the crossbar.
Dunree tried to get back into the game before the break but all they had was a twenty yards free which
David Eccles fired over the bar. There was an all action opening to the second period. Culdaff made it two nil after a brilliant switch of play from Cunningham found Martin Keddy on the right and his pinpoint cross was headed high past Taylor by McLaughlin.
Within minutes Dunree were back in the contest when after a defensive error allowed Jerry Farrell to drill low past Pauric O Donnell.
Dunree upped the tempo and Farrell had an effort blocked by Paul Mills before a poor clearance gifted Eccles a clear sight of goal but he blazed over.
Neil Moran had a long range effort saved by O Donnell. Culdaff responded and Niall Gordon had one effort blocked by a defender before they spurned a great chance to seal the points.
Brilliant work by Cunningham took him past two men and into the area and he unselfishly squared to McLaughlin who with the goal gaping somehow failed to connect properly and the ball trickled wide.
Dunree buoyed by this responded with James Doherty seeing his free kick superbly saved by O’ Donnell.They secured a share of the spoils late on after a superb cross from Moran found Evan barry who headed home from eight yards.
Aileach Reserves 3 Carn Reserves 3
Aileach and Carn played out an entertaining draw on Saturday night with the away side the happier with the result after coming from three one down.
Aileach started brightly but it was Carn who took the lead in the 10th minute when Michael McDermott broke through the centre of the Aileach defence and squared for Dayton Cooke to fire into the net from six yards.
Aileach responded and came close when Conor Harkin fired a shot from ten yards that was saved by Greg Doherty in the Carn goal. Aileach got back on terms on
25 minutes when a good passing move between Harkin and Benny Hegarty resulted in Harkin clipping the ball over the keeper and into the net to level matters on 25 minutes.
Five minutes later, Harkin was at it again turning his marker and firing into the bottom corner from 25 yards. Aileach were pressing hard at this stage of the game and came close when Killian O’Rourke fired a shot inches over the angle of bar and post.
On the stroke of half time a Shane McMonagle through ball found Josh Lynch who forced another save from Doherty in the Carn goal.
Straight from the restart, Aileach came close again when McMonagle’s cross found Hegarty whose flick towards the net was touched round the post by Doherty.
Patrick Curran was next to try his luck when a Josh Lynch cross fell to him but a combination of defenders and keeper kept the ball out.
Aileach finally extended their lead on 60 minutes when Harkin outpaced his man down the line and crossed for McMonagle to slide home to make it three one. This seemed to spur Carn into life and five minutes later they reduced the arrears when Dermot Doherty broke the offside trap and squared for Cooke to tap home. The
pivotal moments in the game happened on the hour when Harkin crossed for McMonagle who looked certain to score before Doherty made an outstanding save and from the resulting clearance a through ball by McDermott sent Cooke clear and his shot was parried by Clarke in the home goal it still had just enough to get over the line to level the scores.
Aileach then forced Carn back for a spell and came close when Hegarty fired a volley goalwards only for it to clip the outside of the post.
With 15 minutes to go, Aileach had a golden chance to win the game when Harkin was upended in the box but Doherty came to Carn’s rescue again saving Harkins penalty.
Carn had the final chance of the game when Dylan Cooke had a shot saved by Clarke.
Redcastle Reserves 3 Cockhill Reserves 0
Redcastle went ahead on ten minutes when Brian Tracy advanced on goal and struck a left footed shot across Liam Lynch to the far corner of the net.
The home side then increased their lead five minutes later when Steve Davenport combined with Shay Davenport before firing home from the edge of the box. Cockhill responded and Terry McColgan denied Gary Breslin advancing quickly to smother his goal bound effort.
The second half saw the home side on the front foot and Tracy played in Evan Craig and Stephen Davenport respectively but neither could make their chances count. McColgan denied Gary Breslin again soon after blocking his low shot before tipping a Ryan Duffy effort around the post.
Redcastle held firm and secured the points on eighty minutes when Shane McCallion chipped Lynch from 20 yards after being put through on goal by Tracy.
Glengad Res 2 Greencastle Res 1
There was little goalmouth action in the opening half but on 25 minutes the home side s Aiden Bambrick raced clear but Puaric Carey Doherty saved well with his legs.
Glengad then took the lead before the interval when Chris Doherty broke forward and fed Shane Devlin who returned the ball to Doherty to fire low to the net from sixteen yards.
The home side started the second half well and increased their lead on 55 minutes when Joe Doherty fed PJ McDaid and from twelve yards he finished low past the advancing keeper.
On 66 minutes Greencastle’s Daniel Rowan lobbed Ronan Lafferty who made a fine finger tip save to tip the ball over.
The visitors reduced the deficit on 74 minutes when Oran McDermott fired low to the corner from the edge of the area.
Glengad had the final chance when a shot from Devlin deflected off a defender and onto the post but the Greencastle defence cleared.
Buncrana Res 2 Moville Res 2
Buncrana will feel disappointed, having created lots of chances, with the draw but on the other hand Moville will feel a draw was the least they deserved for a battling display. This was a highly entertaining game which saw Moville dominate the early exchanges.
On 7 minutes they won a penalty which Kyle Harkin converted. Two minutes later Lee McColgan almost extended Moville’s lead, only to be thwarted by a finger tip save from Hearts’ keeper McNutt.
After this Hearts began to gain control in midfield and on fifteen minutes good interplay between Michael Doherty and Alan Friel created an opening for Pauric O’ Flaherty but his shot was saved by Moville’s keeper Coyle. Buncrana kept pressing and James Adair was unlucky to see his long range free kick go narrowly wide.
Then on 20 minutes another Adair free kick wasn’t produced confusion in the Moville defense and Paul McDaid was on hand to put Hearts back on level terms from close range.
This was to be the pattern for the remainder of the first half with Hearts attacking and Moville relying on Norbert IIndyka, up front, to create any goal scoring opportunities.
The second half started with Buncrana still on the front foot and on fifty eight minutes Michael Doherty’s cross, after good work down the right, almost fell into the path of the onrushing Pauric O’Flaherty.
With all their possession Buncrana failed to create any other significant goal scoring opportunities against a Moville defense of Diver, Doherty, McLaughlin and McCauley. Gradually Moville weathered this pressure and got on the front foot.
After a series of corners, Norbert Indyka scrambled the ball over the line in the 63nd minute to put Moville back in front.
This stung Hearts into action and after a series of attacks which kept Moville penned back in their final third, they succumbed to the Hearts pressure on 72 minutes.
James Adair picked up a partial clearance twenty yards out and his beautifully delivered diagonal cross was controlled and volleyed to the roof of the net, giving keeper Coyle no chance, by the ever industrious Alan Friel.
This was the signal for all out attack from the Hearts which saw Ben Bradley go close with two headers and in the final minute of the game Bradley saw another header tipped on to the bar and then gathered in by keeper Coyle.
