Kenneth Byrne praised his St Columba’s team’s ‘grit and determination’ after their Arthurs Cup final win over Holy Cross, Strabane.
Oisin Gallen’s 1-11 was instrumental in a 2-15 to 3-9 win at Celtic Park.
[adrotate group=”46″]A first-half goal by Adam Edwards had Holy Cross 1-6 to 0-6 ahead at half-time but, with Gallen on fire, the Finnside students came good at just the right time.
“During our whole campaign, we’ve been behind at half-time, so that was nothing new for us,” Byrne told Donegal Sport Hub.
[adrotate group=”88″]“We didn’t lie back with the wind. We pushed on and eventually got ahead. We did very well to come back at them again.
“We started very well against the wind, as we try to do every day.
“They led at half-time, which sort of spurred our boys on. Our boys showed a bit of grit and determination to get the win.”
[adrotate group=”53″]On match-winner Gallen, Byrne said: “Oisin is unreal. He does well everyday. The skill, the balance…He has great support around the midfield too.”
