St Eunan’s GAA Club are very proud to announce their Super House Draw for 2017.
“We have 10 fantastic prizes up for grabs topped off of course by the chance to win a fabulous house in Rann Mór here in Letterkenny,” read a statement from the Letterkenny club.
“Over the last 20 years St. Eunan’s GAA Club has continued to develop O’Donnell Park into a top-class facility capable of hosting inter-county games as well as hosting several county finals across Football, Hurling and Camogie.
“We hope to further enhance our grounds with the development of a 4G Astroturf surface that will benefit not only St. Eunan’s GAA club but hopefully also the wider Letterkenny and Donegal GAA communities.
“We are aware that this project is a massive undertaking and we are calling on all the people of Letterkenny and our friends in other GAA clubs across Donegal, Ulster and Ireland to support our fundraising efforts.
“It is 10 years since our last House Draw and each one we have previously run has been a huge success in aiding O’Donnell Park to become the grounds that you see before you today with a 2,500-seated stand, 6 dressing rooms, a Training pitch and ultra-modern clubhouse.
“In recent years, we have seen the return of Inter-County Football to O’Donnell Park; The Donegal Senior Hurling team call O’Donnell Park home for their National League and Championship matches; We regularly host championship quarter-final and semi-final club matches as a neutral venue as well as underage matches for the Northern Board and County Children’s Board.
“The LYIT Men’s and Ladies teams regularly play their Higher Education matches here and our grounds have been used by St. Eunan’s College, Coláiste Ailigh and Loreto Letterkenny for games. We have also regularly hosted the Donegal Senior & Minor Footballers and Donegal Senior Hurling teams for important training sessions before big matches.
“Allowing our grounds to be used in these ways is something that as a club we are very committed to and we do our best to accommodate as many requests as we possibly can despite the fact that we field approx.
“Some 35 teams across the GAA spectrum of Football, Hurling and Camogie. The installation of a 4G Astroturf will further enhance our ability to make O’Donnell Park available to as many teams and groups as possible.
“We have secured funding from the Capital Sports Grant to help us towards the cost and anyone involved in a sporting organisation or community group that has availed of this type of funding will know that this money is only available for a certain period of time and when that elapses you must have at least raised a matching amount to be in a position to draw down the funding otherwise it is lost.
“So, while it is a big venture, it is one that we feel is necessary and doable with the support of our members and other Gaels and friends throughout the island of Ireland and beyond.
“After our last House Draw in 2007 it is no secret that that the economy suffered a crash. Certainly, over the last 12 to 24 months there have been some signs of a recovery and most people would agree that things aren’t as bad as they were 7 or 8 years ago.
“However, it has become increasingly difficult for those that have graduated from College or managed to land their first job to get a foothold on the property ladder with mortgages proving harder to attain than in times gone by. With this in mind, we feel the time is now right to once again offer the opportunity for one lucky person to win the home of their dreams – a home valued at €155K plus another 25K+ in fantastic prizes.”
Tickets cost €100 and can be purchased from most club members and at outlets throughout Letterkenny including: The Mount Errigal Hotel; Blake’s Bar; The Brewery Bar and Macs Mace; We’d also love to hear from other retailers that would be interested in helping and they can contact Peter Curran or Ciaran Haran (details below).
There is also the opportunity to purchase a ticket online whether you are at home or abroad in conjunction with our friends at Klubfunder by visiting: klubfunder.com/clubs/st_eunans.
We would like to thank our sponsors: Liberty Travel; The Mount Errigal Hotel; Tinney’s Oil; The Shandon Hotel & Spa; Sweeney’s Euronics Ireland; Evolve Menswear; Top Oil and Seamus MacRory. Without their support this draw would not be possible.
