THE ULSTER SENIOR LEAGUE’S involvement in this season’s FAI Umbro Intermediate Cup is over after Bonagee United and Cockhill Celtic were beaten this weekend.
Bonagee lost on Saturday against Edenderry Town while Cockhill lost out to College Corinthians on Sunday.
Edenderry Town 2 Bonagee United 0
BONAGEE UNITED’S Intermediate Cup bid was ended by Edenderry Town in Paddy Maloney Park in County Offaly on Saturday afternoon.
Keith McNamara and Niall O’Neill bagged the goals as Edenderry swept past Peter Moran’s Bonagee.

However, the home side took the lead when McNamara tapped home from Jack Lennon’s cross.
Bonagee had chances to get back into it. Aidan McLaughlin wasn’t far away with a header in the 56th minute and with 15 minutes to go the Bonagee striker was denied by a good save from the Edenderry goalkeeper.
With Bonagee having everyone forward in added time, they were caught on the break as Edenderry got in for a second goal, O’Neill racing away to find the net.

GAVIN CULLEN was the picture of frustration as Ulster Senior League champions Cockhill Celtic exited the Intermediate Cup following a narrow defeat by MSL high-fliers College Corinthians.
Kieran Kenealy’s goal on the hour mark was the difference between the teams at Castletreasure as Corinthians ensured that the USL’s representation in the competition is over for another year.
Kenealy struck the winner past Harry Doherty in the 60th minute and it was to be the only goal of the game.
Cockhill had several good chances in the second half, but found Corinthians a tough nut to crack.
[adrotate group=”76″]Substitute Mark Moran struck the post as Cockhill went in search of an equaliser.
“We didn’t play well, but we still had the best chances,” Cullen said.
“We weren’t really troubled at all, but were hit with a very poor goal against the run of play.
“We let ourselves down. We are a much better side than we showed. That was the poorest that we’ve played in a long while. We just weren’t creative enough or good enough on the day.”
Cockhill Celtic: Harry Doherty, Paul McDermott, William O’Connor, Peter Doherty, Jason Breslin, Derek Doherty, Ryan Varma, Jimmy Bradley, Gerry Gill, Ronan Doherty, Gerard McLaughlin. Subs: Conor Keddy for McDermott, Garbhan Friel for McLaughlin, Mark Moran for Bradley, Johnny Havlin for O’Connor, Paul McKinney for Breslin.
