NORA STAPLETON and Larissa Muldoon have been returned to the Ireland team for Sunday’s final November Series game against New Zealand at The UCD Bowl.
The duo have been named in the starting XV by Tom Tierney and will form an all-Donegal half-back partnership.
Stapleton scored all of Ireland’s ten points in their opening November Series game, a 12-10 defeat by England, but sat out last week’s 48-7 loss to Canada.
Muldoon was on the team that lost to England and came on as a replacement last weekend.
Fly-half Stapleton and scrum-half Muldoon have been restored to the starting team as Ireland will hope to replicate a famous win over the Black Fearns at the 2014 World Cup.
“Last weekend’s Test against Canada was an important learning experience for the side,” Tierney said.
“Canada showed why they are one of the top-ranked teams in the world and our players will learn a lot from taking on opposition of that standard.
“With that in mind, we welcome New Zealand to UCD on Sunday as they come off the back of a win over Canada in Donnybrook yesterday, securing their status as the number one ranked team in the World.
[adrotate group=”38”]“As we continue to develop over the November Series, we will again have some new combinations to look at on Sunday.
“We’ve seen how New Zealand played over the last two weeks in their games against England and Canada, so we are aware of the challenge that they will present us in UCD.”
