MOVILLE CELTIC and Greencastle FC will contest the final of the Donegal Signs Reserve Shield after wins over Gleneely Colts and Cockhill Reserves yesterday.
Donegal Signs Reserve Shield Semi-finals
Moville Reserves 3 Gleneely Colts 2
IN a very evenly match contest Moville just edged it to go on and book their place in the final.
They dominated the early part of the match with the first real chance falling to James Gillen who volleyed over a Ryan McColgan cross from six yards and they moved in front when good work by McColgan down the right saw him square inside to Kevin McDermott whose shot from 20 yards found the net.
Another McColgan cross from the right was met by Kyle Harkin but he could not connect properly and the chance was gone.
The visitors equalised and went on to hit the front within the space of four minutes.
[adrotate group=”80″]Their first came from Nathan McLaughlin who controlled the ball, cut inside and scored past Ryan Coyle from ten yards.
McLaughlin notched his second when he converted from the spot after he himself had been fouled inside the area.
Moville could have levelled but were out of luck when Harkin’s strike from distance rebounded off a post.
However, right on half-time they did equalise when Graeme Doherty’s left wing cross was headed home from point blank range by Norbert Indyka.
After the break good openings fell to Gleneely’s Stephen and Nathan McLaughlin but Coyle denied them both.
Just past the midway point of the second half Moville upped the tempo and struck for the winner when Harkin cut inside from the right and drove to the net from sixteen yards.
Although Gleneely continued to press in the final stages they could not find a way through to at least force extra time.

COCKHILL started the brighter of the teams and after some early pressure Ryan Mallett shot wide from a Mark Gillespie corner.
Cockhill continued to press and came close when a Mark Gillespie shot from twenty five yards went narrowly wide before Ryan Mallett was played through with the keeper to beat but just missed the target.
Greencastle finally created a chance when Eunan Hegarty shot wide after good work from Pauric Gillen.
On the half hour mark Cockhill finally made all their pressure pay off when Kevin McDaid finished well after a nice through pass from Eddie Cuffe opened up the Greencastle defence.
[adrotate group=”81″]Greencastle responded well to falling behind and equalised minutes later when Cockhill didn’t clear their lines, Gavin Rowan hit a dipping volley from the far right of the box that went in off the back post.
After the break Cockhill started the stronger of the teams again and went close with efforts from Kevin McDaid and Martin McDermott almost giving Cockhill the lead again.
On 65 minutes Cockhill take the lead again when young Jude Mullan coolly slots home after a header on from Gary Breslin to give Cockhill a well deserved lead.
Greencastle were given a lifeline when they won a penalty on 75 minutes. Daniel Rowan stood up to hold his nerve and bring Greencastle back level with a well taken penalty.
Both sides had some half chances before the end of normal time but the first chance in extra time fell to Cockhill when Jude Mullan almost grabbing his second and Cockhills third when he slotted past the Greencastle keeper only for his effort to slip narrowly past the far post.
[adrotate group=”38″]Still all even in to the second period of extra time and Greencastle took the lead two minutes in to the final period of extra time when another looping volley from Daniel Rowan sailed over Gary Robinson’s head and in to the net.
Cockhill pushed hard for an equaliser with a few half chances late but the Greencastle defence held firm in the closing stages to reach the final .
