BONAGEE UNITED midfielder Ronan McKinley departs to Poland tomorrow with the Republic of Ireland Under-15 squad.
McKinley is the sole Donegal player in the squad that will play two games against the Poles next week.
Ireland take on Poland on Tuesday at 12noon in Lomza and Thursday, also in Lomza, at 4pm.
Bonagee’s McKinley, a student at St Eunan’s College, has been selected by the manager Jason Donohue on the squad that flies out tomorrow.
[adrotate group=”38″]“We want to use these two matches to continue to implement the game plans and footballing ethos that we’ve established within our Emerging Talent Programmes but also to test the players against top opposition like Poland as we look to develop players for the future,” Donohue said.
“We’re excited. It is a great opportunity for these young footballers to taste international football for the first time and test themselves on the highest stage.
“We’ve done extensive work over the last couple of months, scouting up and down the country at clubs and within our highly successful Emerging Talent Programme.”
Newtown man McKinley previously wore the Irish green in the Hibernia Cup.
