A FINE INDIVIDUAL haul of 2-5 from Dermot Slevin helped Four Masters to County Under-13 Division 1 championship final win over St Eunan’s this afternoon.
Four Masters 3-11 St Eunan’s 2-4
The Donegal town side were impressive in the first half for large spells, only for St Eunan’s to finish the 25-minute period strongly. In the second period it was essentially the opposite with St Eunan’s the more impressive in the opening stages before Masters took over to finish things.

It was John Sinclair’s Masters who went in in front at the break, 2-5 to 1-4.
The opening goal of the afternoon came on five minutes when Slevin played a ball to Jamie Gorrell, who fired past Ronan Coady soccer style.
That made the score 1-2 to 0-2 with Slevin and Mark Jordan having scored Masters’ opening two points and Josh McCullagh and Ryan Creevy on the mark for Eunan’s.
Slevin was right in the mix in most of Four Masters’ positive first half play. He added a second goal for his side on 13 minutes, finishing off a pass from Ultan O’Grady.

It pushed Masters into a 2-5 to 0-2 lead at a stage when the Letterkenny team were struggling to make a footprint on the contest.
St Eunan’s did, though, play their way back into it. A blasted goal from Peter McGeehin meant the team from the Cathedral Town finished the half strongly.

But just when they looked like they might be losing their way, Four Masters, who had the second half breeze, found two important scores from the boot of Jordan.

Gallagher stuck in the final stages, when Four Masters had complete control as the rain fell in sheets. Slevin, following a pass from Frank Cornyn, tucked home a third goal with the final kick of the match.
