CARROWMENA FC will sit down with the Inishowen League next Monday night to discuss the club’s ongoing difficulties.
Carrowmena are struggling to field two teams at present and have looked at the possibility of withdrawing the club’s first team from The Strand Hotel First Division.
Carrowmena’s reserve team competes in the Inishowen Engineering Second Division.
This weekend, the Carrowmena first team are scheduled to host Aileach Reserves with the reserve team penciled in for an away game against Dunree Reserves.

“We just have a real lack of numbers,” club secretary Gerard Gill told Donegal Sport Hub.
“We’re in a process at the moment with the Inishowen League. We’re just looking to get over the next hurdle here. We are struggling to field two teams every Sunday and the problem at the moment is that players are playing two games every Sunday.”

Last year, Carrowmena’s Reserves won the League title.
Carrowmena have won just once in their eight Strand Hotel Division One League outings so far this season.
Gill said: “A lot of factors are at play. We lost our manager and we lost some players as a result of that. We have some players working away from home, others are away at college and mightn’t be getting home week-on-week.
[adrotate group=”81″]“We have a request in with the League at the minute, but we can’t say for certain at the moment what route we will be going down.
“It will only be after Monday’s meeting that we will know our fate.”
