ORCHARD FC’S Peter Blake didn’t let the the recession get him down – and the Letterkenny man is asking the Donegal soccer community to row in behind his bid to win a prestigious award.
Almost two years ago,in December 2014, Peter set up Peadar Jim’s Property Maintenance in Letterkenny and the business has grown from strength to strength.
Peadar Jims has been nominated for Best Start Up Business at The Letterkenny Chamber Business Awards, having been ‘highly commended’ in the category last year.
“I would really love to win this award after coming so close last year,” Blake says.
“Since the start, I really have put my heart and soul into the business through really tough times locally. I’m asking people to please take a moment and vote for me.”
Peadar Jims now has three people employed. It all started when Peter, a former construction worker, was asked to do some work by the Beechwood Residents’ Association and he subsequently launched his property maintenance business.
Recently, he has obtained a new base on the Port Road in Letterkenny.
He has provided, free of charge, assistance to the Letterkenny Tidy Towns and the Cathedral Quarter Project.
Peter is the assistant manager at Orchard FC and also plays for the Donegal Saturday League club.
“We provide services all over Donegal and I’m hoping to get the support of players and teams from within the Donegal League for this award,” he says.
“We plan to add to the team in the coming months and keep the business always improving.”
