PROMISING LETTERKENNY rally driver Marty Gallagher is set to take the Peugeot 208 R2 to the Rallye Waldviertel next month in Austria.
Gallagher and his regular co-driver, Convoy’s Dean O’Sullivan, are the only crew from Ireland or Britain who will be taking part in the event, a round of the Austrian Rally Championship.
The Rallye Waldviertel will run from November 17-19 and will be held in St Polton, Austria.
It is a mixed-surface rally – 62 per cent gravel and 38 per cent tarmac – and is the final round of the European Rally Trophy.

Gallagher and O’Sullivan swapped a Fiesta for the 208, which has enabled them to compete better in the class.
This year, they scored two class wins – in Class 2 – in the British Championship, at the Circuit of Ireland and at Rally Isle of Man.
[adrotate group=”38″]The pair were 18th overall in Rally Isle of Man, while they were second in their class in both the British and Irish Championships.
Having finished 15th overall at the Joule Donegal International Rally, they were 10th overall and leading Class 2 on the final stage of the Cork 20 International Rally, but got held up by a black cat on the stage and lost too much time after a subsequent engine malfunction.
