MOVILLE CONTINUED their good start to the Strand Hotel First Division campaign, while Cockhill suffered a first League defeat.

DEFENCES were on top in the opening 20 minutes but on 24 minutes Sam McCorkell saw his effort well blocked by Tiernan Devine in the Rasheney goal.
Minutes later the same player found Joe Johnstone whose effort was blocked by a defender and looped onto the bar before being cleared.
Rasheney came well into the game then and broke the deadlock when David McLaughlin pounced on defensive hesitancy to advance into the area and fire low past Paul Grant.
They added a second on the stroke of half time after McLaughlin fired a powerful twenty five yards effort in off the under side of the bar.
On 71 minutes the home sides Aaron Barr found himself in space but his cross shot found no takers.
Rasheney replied on 77 minutes when McLaughlin saw a shot charged away by Kevin Wallace before the same player fired just wide from the edge of the area.
Rasheney pressed again with Jack Mclaughlin firing over the bar when well placed.
The Point then saw Paul Hegarty release Simon Wallace but his effort was saved by Tiernan Devine.
The home side got a lifeline on 86 minutes when Hegarty burst through and fired low past Devine from 15 yards.
A minute later substitute James McCready fired just over for the home side.
Rasheney sealed the points in the final minute when Matthew Mclaughlin headed home from a corner.
They had a final chance when a booming clearance from Paddy McGilloway crashed off the bar.

MOVILLE had an early chance when Charlie Gill fired just wide from twenty yards. Aileach responded and Stephen Doherty had one effort deflected and another well saved by Liam Grimley.
They took the lead when Ruairi Bradley fired an unstoppable effort to the roof of the net via the underside of the bar midway through the half.
Moville replied after the break and equalised on 56 minutes after a defensive slip allowed Finn McLaughlin square the ball for Norbert Indyka to slot home.
They then took the lead on 72 minutes when Indyka beat the offside trap to race clear and calmly slot home. Finn McLaughlin then made it three-one with a sublime finish to the bottom corner from fifteen yards.
Minutes later Jordan McGeady converted a penalty after he had been upended. The home side pushed hard but failed to salvage a point and in the final minute were reduced to ten when Paul Mchugh was red carded for retaliation.
Clonmany Reserves 2 Redcastle United 0
PLAYED in bright sunshine Clonmany took an early lead in the second minute when Jack Doherty received the ball on the left side of the box and he jinked to the byline before crossing to the near post where John Porter slipped it into the net.Jack Doherty almost doubled Clonmany’s advantage in the fourth minute when he received the ball in space on the edge of the box but his
curling effort went just past the post.
Redcastle came back strongly and had most of the pressure for the rest of the half but were kept to shots from distance by a stalwart home defence.
Redcastle started the second half well and should have equalised in the 56th minute when Seamus Doherty crossed from the right to an unmarked Cathal Crumlish but he sent his header wide when well placed.
Clonmany responded and Michael Harkin tested Michael McCole with a shot from twenty yards but the Redcastle keeper was equal to it and made a good save.
Redcastle kept pressing and had shots from Eunan Mullin and Kevin Toner in the 66th and 69th minutes but again Clonmany pushed out forcing them to fire wide.
Clonmany sealed the match in the 85th minute when from a Redcastle corner Liam McGonigle punched clear sending Doherty away to release his brother Conor who raced towards the Redcastle box before laying the ball back to Michael Harkin who laid the ball off to Jack Doherty on the 18-yards line who played the ball into the path of his brother Brendan and he drove a right foot shot past McCole beating him at his near post .

IN AN even opening there were few chances until the home side took the lead on 28 minutes when a deep Stephen Doherty corner was powerfully headed past Declan Caldwell by Paddy Doherty.
They had another great chance after Paddy Doherty released Stephen Doherty whose first time effort was well saved by Caldwell.
Illies continued on top with Martin Coyle and Stephen Doherty both off target before a William McLaughlin pile driver was tipped over by Caldwell.
They doubled their lead after Stephen Doherty beat his man on the left and crossed for John Pio Donaghey to slot home from close range.
Cockhill got a consolation on 89 minutes when Michael Noone hammered a brilliant volley high past Johnathan Noone but it was too little too late.
