ON A WEEKEND where traction was hard to find, Gameweek 6 of our Fantasy Premier League – in association with Champions Travel – sees the top four divided by only two points.
‘Elland Road’ mightn’t have seen Premier League action in some time but that’s the name of the team now topping the charts here.
Damien Duffy is the man in charge and his team came home with 60 points. He made the decision to play it safe and hand Sergio Agüero the captain’s armband – bringing home 26 points.
Alexis Sánchez of Arsenal also clocked 14 points as the Gunners hammered Chelsea 3-0. However, with clean sheets hard to find, Adam Smith of Bournemouth managed one in the 1-0 victory over Everton for six points.
Duffy has 376 points thus far, just one ahead of last week’s leader Aidan McLaughlin, who manages ‘Cleverson’.
His team had a modest weekend as bar Agüero, no player managed more than two points so the weekly total was 42.
Two teams are in joint third with 374 points – Barry Mailey’s ‘Slumdogg Mingolet’ and ‘Humdingers’ – the team managed by Deirdre Meehan.
With 66, Mailey’s side hoovered up some useful points, particularly with 14-pointer Philippe Coutinho and his Liverpool teammate Sadio Mané and Vincent Janssen from Tottenham picking up five each.
[adrotate group=”80″]Meehan managed to get 77, which was the highest of everyone within in the top 30. Agüero, Sánchez and Coutinho did most of the damage, although Laurent Koscielny’s clean sheet for Arsenal certainly helped.
‘d-Special-1-Zlatan’ are in fifth place and under the stewardship of Jacinta Driver. With no Agüero, 65 points was a decent return, with the Argentine’s City teammates Kevin De Bruyne getting 10 and Raheem Sterling eight.
Driver was one of the few people to benefit from Monday Night Football, where Burnley beat Watford 2-0, as she had Tom Heaton in goal.
Here’s how our league table, in conjunction with Champions Travel, looks after Gameweek 6.
