DUNREE FC, Glengad United, Clonmany Shamrocks and Buncrana Hearts all advanced to the semi-finals of the Clubman Shirts League Cup. Here’s how the action panned out:

Clubman Shirts League Cup Quarter Finals
Dunree United 2 Aileach FC 1
HAVING led Aileach by three goals to nil before capitulating in the League last week Dunree gained some measure of revenge when they advanced to the semi finals.
In a close fought game chances were few and far between.
Aileach had the first chance on 25 minutes but Anthony Doherty was denied from close range by a brilliant Philip Doherty save.
Dunree then took the lead on 33 minutes when Liam Baldrick collected a loose ball in midfield and fired a brilliant 25 yards effort high past John Roulstone.
Aileach pressed on the resumption and got back on terms on 55 minutes when after Philip Doherty punched clear Anthony Doherty pounced to drill home.
Dunree regained the lead on 77 minutes with a sublime outside of the foot effort from Oisin O Flaherty which flashed past Roulstone.
Aileach pressed and Kieran McGrory had a snapshot well saved by Doherty.
With Aileach pushing Dunree broke in the final minute with Philip McGuinness racing clear but losing control as he rounded Roulstone.
Carn FC 1 Glengad United 4
CARN stunned the holders when they broke the deadlock on 16 minutes after Lee McLaughlin broke clear on the left hand side and advanced to slide the ball low past Kevin McLaughlin.
Glengad replied and were out of luck after a Paul McDermott effort came crashing back off the post before being cleared.
Glengad drew level on 41 minutes when McDermott raced onto a long ball over the top and when his effort was well parried by Daniel Houghton the loose ball was slammed home by PJ McDaid.
Glengad upped the tempo on the restart and took the lead on the hour mark when McDermott fired low past Houghton from 15 yards despite the goalkeeper getting a hand to it.Mc dermott then got his second of the game converting from close range before Terence Doherty completed the scoring when he broke on the right and cut in to fire home from the edge of the area.
The home side had the final chance after Caolan Doherty saw an effort well saved by McLaughlin.

Rasheney FC 1 Clonmany Shamrocks 4
PLAYED on Saturday evening the visitors started well and opened the scoring on three minutes after a Jason Devlin corner was headed home by Gary Doherty from 12 yards.
Within minutes Ferghal Harkin drove a 25 yards low past the wall and into the bottom corner to make it two-nil.
Rasheney replied with John Grant releasing Anthony Doherty whose cross found Matthew McLaughlin who fired narrowly wide from the edge of the area.
Rasheney pressed again and a Christy Ivers free was just off target.
Clonmany broke and a Mark McLaughlin effort was brilliantly tipped onto the bar by Sean Friel who recovered to deny McLaughlin’s follow up.
On the stroke of half time Rasheney’s Paddy McGilloway spurned a good chance when unmarked he fired wide from 15 yards.
Rasheney got back into the game on 53 minutes when they were awarded a penalty for handball and Charlie Doherty fired to the top right hand corner.
They almost equalised when Doherty crossed from the right to McLaughlin but his effort was well saved by Patrick Harkin.
Damien Friel crossed for a flick from David McLaughlin but Harkin made a brilliant save on the line.
With the home side pressing the shamrocks broke with Jason Devlin on the left and he played a one-two with Mark McLaughlin before slotting low past Friel from 15 yards. The visitors sealed the tie when Michael Devlin dispatched a spot kick low to Friel’s right.

Cockhill Youths 1 Buncrana Hearts 3
AS expected this was hard fought affair but in the end the hearts were good value for their win.They started well and took the lead on 15 minutes after a Kieran McDaid effort was parried by Declan Caldwell but Pat Loughery pounced to drill home.
They increased their lead midway through the half when the home side had a player receiving treatment but Stephen McHugh took full advantage to slot low past Caldwell from 15 yards.
Buncrana kept the pressure on on the restart and Eoin Murphy fired wide of a gaping goal. On the hour Cockhill went close when Michael Owen Doherty headed narrowly wide. Murphy atoned for his earlier miss when he volleyed superbly to the net from 12 yards and make it three.
Cockhill got a consolation after Eoghan O’Doherty parried allowing Mike Doherty to lay the ball off to Darragh McDermott but it was too little too late.
