KILCAR PROGRESSED TO the semi-final stage of the Donegal SFC with a 15-point win over Termon at Ballybofey last night.
The Towney based club are now just one win away from a first final appearance since Martin McHugh was a player in 1993.
“The message was to keep playing football,” McHugh said afterwards. “You hope to get different scores from different places. If teams go defensive you have to do that. It’s good to get that.
“We’re happy enough to be in the last four. We were lucky enough to get out of the group. Now. we’re over another step. We’re just in the same position we were in last year.”
McHugh, the manager, was content with his side’s victory although did question the late timing of the contest.
[adrotate group=”53″]“I have to say I’m disappointed in the timing of the match,” he added. “Half past eight was just too late. From a spectator point of view it was very late. We did put in a request – and Termon agreed with us – to play it an hour earlier. There’s a lot of people that didn’t come because of the time.”
He spoke to Alan Foley afterwards …
