SEAN MCFADDEN and Nichloas Fowell on Sunday competed in Ironman Wales.
Letterkenny native McFadden (pictured above) finished in a time of 10 hours, 39 minutes and nine seconds, for 98th place overall and 24th in his category, AK M40-44.

McFadden did the 180.25km bike in five hours, 42 minutes and 38 seconds and then completed the marathon (42.2km) in 3:39:35 in Pembrokeshire.
Fowell (pictured above), also from Letterkenny and a member of the local 24/7 Triathlon Club, was 142nd overall, with 10:54:54 in all. That was good enough for 14th in his category, AK M45-49.

Fowell’s breakdown was an excellent 58:24 for the swim, 5:43:04 on the bike and 4:01:57 for the run.
“There must have been at least a million people on the street,” McFadden said afterwards. “It was fantastic. I couldn’t a place more from an Ironman for scenery and for support.”
