JORDAN BOYCE WON the INDO National Youth Singles Championship yesterday in County Clare – and is set for a return to the Lakeside again later in the year.
The Newtowncunningham schoolboy, who was the World Youth finalist back in January at the Lakeside, took victory on a busy weekend of action at Treacy’s West County Hotel in Ennis yesterday.
After coming through a round robin group phase with games against Mark Dolan, Corey Buckley and Lorcan Mullane, Boyce defeated Laois man John Fitzpatrick 3-0 in the round of 16.
Boyce took out Meath’s William Byrne in the quarter-final before he disposed of number 1 seed Keane Barry in the semi-final.

Boyce won 4-2 in an exciting final. After falling 1-0 behind, Boyce went 3-1 ahead, with Heffernan pulling one back, only for Boyce to seal a win with some fine darts to claim a big win for the 17-year-old.
Back in January, Boyce was beaten 3-2 by Joshua Richardson from England in the World Youth final at the Lakeside.

This year’s qualifiers are being held at the iconic Lakeside venue.
