LETTERKENNY RUGBY PLAYERS have impressed in Ulster colours during the first two weeks of the interprovincial series at both under 18 and 19 level.
Joseph Dunleavy (pictured above) has put in two impressive performances at number eight in victories over Leinster and Munster respectively.

Dunleavy had proven his versatility in moving from blind side wing forward to the more technical No 8 position where he excelled for his club all year. He must now be well on his way to a first Irish cap at under 19 level along with an academy position with Ulster once he turns 18.
At under 18 level the results have not been as good with narrow defeats to Munster and Connacht. Joshua Fulton made a promising debut in the second row in the opening game against Munster and was replaced by fellow Letterkenny man Connor McMenamin who returned from injury to face Connacht.

McMenamin put in a storming performance on Sunday last in the showgrounds. Matthew Faulkner, playing on the wing, was again prominent in Galway where he scored Ulster’s second try to complete two eye catching performances that must put him in contention for under 19 promotion.
The under 18’s complete their campaign away to Leinster on Saturday next with a 1pm kick off in Donnybrooke. Both Connor McMenamin and Matthew Faulkner are due to start with Joshua Fulton and James Sweeney as probable replacements. The under 19 finish off against Connacht at the RBAI grounds in Belfast at 3pm with Dunleavy again due to start at No 8.
