AN AUTOGRAPHED REPUBLIC OF IRELAND jersey that was worn by Seamus Coleman and a signed Donegal GAA jersey are among the items to be auctioned for a Galway-based charity until next month.
Cuan Mhuire is a charitable drug, alcohol and gambling rehabilitation organisation based in Coolarne, Co Galway.

Others include a Connacht jersey signed by the victorious Guinness Pro12 squad, a host of GAA signed jerseys including Donegal, All-Ireland hurling finalists Tipperary and Kilkenny and football finalists Dublin and Mayo.
The ‘Croke Park to Cuan Mhuire’ was established to raise funds towards providing facilities for health and mental wellbeing both in the local community in East Galway, called Mullagh, and for Cuan Mhuire, Athenry.
In August, a four-day walk from GAA HQ to Cuan Muire – which covered 167km – took place. From Mullagh, the participants the cycled to Cuan Mhuire’s treatment centre in Coolarne, where some 490 people were treated last year.

Mullagh and Senior Galway hurler Davy Glennon came through a program at Cuan Mhuire. He tells the story of playing in Croke Park in a Leinster final last July and booking himself into Cuan Mhuire four days later with a gambling addiction.
