THIS RESULT COULD have big implications in the battle for survival in Division One, with Glenswilly handed a huge boost as Ardara slip closer to the quicksand.
Glenswilly 1-12 Ardara 2-5
A goal in the tenth minute by Christopher McMonagle helped Glenswilly, who were again without Michael Murphy, to what could be a precious and pricelss pair of League points.
Lorcan O’Donnell’s goal after just two minutes and another by CJ Molloy late in the first half, had Ardara in touch, but the Kentucky men are now in big danger of making the drop to Division Two.

Seamus Gallagher’s team did get off to a dream start as O’Donnell fired to the top corner after good approach work by Kevin Breslin.
However, Glenswilly got a goal of their own soon after as McMonagle blasted home having been set up by Cathal Gallagher.
Oisin Crawford, Neil Gallagher and Kealan McFadden tacked on points for Glenswilly to lead while Brian Farrelly and Crawford, again, had them 1-6 to 1-3 ahead after 26 minutes.
Tomas Boyle kept Ardara in it and they got a massive score on 27 minutes as Molloy fisted to the net from Ryan Malley’s centre.
That goal leveled things up, but Farrelly and McMonagle points had Glenswilly 1-8 to 2-4 ahead at half-time.
Ardara scored just once in the second half, that point in the first minute of the half by Conor Classon.
Joe Gibbons (2), McFadden and Gallagher added points for Glenswilly and the visitors’ tale of woe was combounded with Molloy black carded for a tackle on Eamon Ward and Brendan McNelis red carded after striking out.
