FOUR Masters GAA Club hosted the annual Southern Regional Board Under-10 finals day in Tír Conaill Park on Saturday.
Twelve clubs were in attendance on the day, with over 220 children taking part in the 48 games.
The standard of football was very high with the emphasis being on participation and enjoyment more than winning.
The twelve clubs that took part on the day were; Four Masters, St Nauls, Naomh Brid, Bundoran, Naomh Conaill, Ardara, Dungloe, Naomh Muire, Killybegs, Glenfin, Kilcar and Naomh Columba.
[adrotate group=”82″]The competition was broken into A and B teams with the 12 A teams being split into two groups of 6 with each team getting 5 games, and the 9 B teams playing 4 games in a round robin format.
Each team played 9 games in total when A and B team games were combined, with each teams results counting towards the end total.
Four Masters would like to thank all the participating teams for attending and their behaviour throughout, all the referees who helped run the games, parents that helped out with the tea room on the day, volunteers that helped move goalposts to and from Tír Conaill and with car parking.
The winning club on the day was Four Masters who won all their A and B games to win the Conal Gildea Memorial Shield for the third year in a row.
[adrotate group=”38″]Thanks goes to County Chairman Sean Dunnion for presenting the shield, John McConnell who said a few words about the competition and Conal, and to SRB Chairman Paul Martin who presented each club with a small shield for participating in the blitz.
Well done and thanks goes to all the players and clubs who made the day an enjoyable blitz for all involved.
