THE FAI HAS just confirmed that the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game between Finn Harps and Cork City next month has been postponed.
The fixture was due to take place on Tuesday, September 6, but will now have to be rescheduled due to the visitors having Kevin O’Connor and Sean Maguire in Noel King’s Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for next month’s UEFA U21 Championships Qualifying Round fixtures against Slovenia and Serbia.
[adrotate group=”38″]It’s the second time that the Cork fixture has been put back. The game was initially fixed for Finn Park on Friday, July 22, but was postponed due to the Leesider’s European commitments. A new date for the game has yet to be confirmed.
Harps also had to reschedule their away fixture against St Patrick’s Athletic earlier this term, with the fixture brought forward to May as the Inchicore side won 4-0. Then, last Friday’s clash at Oriel Park against league champions Dundalk was also postponed as Stephen Kenny’s team were involved in the Champions League play-off round against Legia Warsaw.
