MOST OF THE quarter-finalists in the Clubman Shirts League Cup will be known after this evening’s final series of matches.
However, the teams to advance from Group C won’t be firmed up as the Buncrana Hearts-Culdaff FC game has been called off owing to a bereavement in the Buncrana club.
The Group B clash of League Cup holders Glengad United and Clonmany Reserves has also been shelved.
With Clonmany Reserves’ withdrawal from the competition, their previous two results have been annulled meaning the 8-1 loss at Clonmany Shamrocks and the 7-0 loss against Greencastle won’t now affect the goal difference column.
[adrotate group=”37″]That all means that Glengad, despite having no game this evening, will now advance along with either Clonmany Shamrocks or Greencastle.
Clonmany, who have seen Kevin Harkin replace Sean Tolley as the manager in the last week, are home to Greencastle at Shamrock Park this evening.
In Group A, Redcastle will fancy their chances of advancing, but must first negotiate a tricky away trip to Rasheney, while Aileach (pictured above) and Illies have it all to play for in Group C.
Things are also neatly poised in Group D heading into the final series of games with Moville Celtic hosting Carn and Dunree welcoming Quigley’s Point to Linsford.
