GAVIN CULLEN is anticipating a tough battle in the season ahead as Cockhill Celtic bid to keep the green and white ribbons around the Ulster Senior League’s silverware.
Cockhill won the League, the League Cup and the Knockalla Caravans Senior Cup last season in Cullen’s first as player-manager, having taken the mantle from Donal O’Brien.
Cockhill have won the League in each of the last four campaigns.
“It’ll be difficult,” Cullen told Donegal Sport Hub ahead of the new season.
“We had a very good season last season, probably better than expected, but other teams have signed new players and it’ll be an interesting, tough League.”
[adrotate group=”76″]Cockhill will be without Malachy McDermott, who injured a cruciate knee ligament playing Gaelic football for Moville during the summer.
However, Cullen has seen Oisin McColgan, Johnny Havlin, Mark Moran, Ryan Varma and Daryl McDermott all return to the Charlie O’Donnell Sports Grounds.
[adrotate group=”37″]Cullen said: “I’m happy with what we have. I’m happy with the mix we have. I’m delighted, to be honest, to get some of those lads back. They’ll really add to the depth that we have.”
