Richard Kerr showed again that he has the pace to run with the front runners at round 7 of the British Superbike Championships at Brands Hatch at the weekend.
The Kilmacrennan lad was right in the mix for the podium in Saturday’s Motostar race until he had a big crash on the last lap of the ten-lap race, though thankfully Richard escaped relatively unscathed apart for some gravel rash.
After a busy night rebuilding the machine it was unto the grid for race two on Sunday.
Straight from the flag Kerr showed no ill effects from his big crash and into second place at turn one.
[adrotate group=”46″]After a few laps he was involved in a fantastic scrap for 4th position with the ex-champion Ed Rendall and Spanish rider Dani Siaz.
The trio passed each other lap after lap with some hard clean moves but it was the young Kilmacrennan man that led the fight at the chequered flag.
A great end to the weekend for the team, Richard would like to thank all his sponsors and his father for working 10 hours to rebuild the bike on Saturday night.
The next round is at Caldwell Park in two weeks time
