SWILLY ROVERS have appointed a new manager for the forthcoming Ulster Senior League season.
Derry native Aaron Rogan was last installed as the new boss at Swilly Park following a meeting with members of the club’s committee.
Rogan takes over from Jason Gibson at the Ramelton club.
Gibson stepped down at the end of last season having spent six seasons at the helm.
Under Gibson’s watch, Swilly won the Knockalla Caravans Senior Cup in 2013 and 2014.

The club has since reversed a committee decision to withdraw from the USL after talks with the Swilly Trustees and last night Rogan’s appointment was rubber-stamped.
Rogan met with some Swilly players last night at Swilly Park. Players have been training under Laurence Toland and Marty McDaid in recent weeks.

“Aaron played with Swilly in the Ulster Senior League himself and knows what the League is about. He was across the water as a young lad at West Brom
“He’ll bring good experience to Swilly. We’re looking forward to the new season kicking off.
[adrotate group=”46″]“I’m delighted that the club has stayed in the Ulster Senior League. I think it would have been a backward step to go back to the Donegal League. I’m glad to see the club playing at the highest level possible.”
