Midfielder Gallagher shot home a treble to give Bríd McGinty’s team, the Donegal Women’s League leaders, the win after they’d been rocked in the early stages by Cathal McGinley’s Glenree.
It was the home side that came out the traps quickest in this match and found themselves two goals up after 25 minutes with goals from midfielder Danielle Doherty.

Lagan came more into the match as the half went on but they were held out on two occasions with brave goal keeping by Glenree keeper Clare Friel.
Lagan pulled one goal back with five minutes left in the half when Gallagher broke through and scored from eight yards.

The home side pushed to get back into the match with the introduction of youth players and senior debutants Lauren Carr and Thea Duffy but this could only stem the flow of the Lagan attacks.
Best for Lagan were Caroline Gallagher, Catherine Grier. Best for Glenree were Niamh McDevitt, Siobhan Sweeney, Orla McGonigle
