RAY DURACK HAS forgotten more about hurling than most people will ever know.
The Co Galway, native has managed Burt to a succession of county titles, Donegal to the Nicky Rackard in 2013 at Croke Park but last night he was particularly downbeat.
[adrotate group=”56″]Durack’s St Eunan’s put in a fantastic second half effort against Buncrana and had nine fingers on the County Minor Hurling Championship trophy late in the game in Burt.
However, in stoppage time Buncrana pulled a 3-6 to 1-11 victory from the fire when Ben Doherty scored a goal direct from a free and St Eunan’s were left to wonder what might have been.
“That must be the worst defeat I’ve suffered ever since being involved in hurling,” Durack said. “We were robbed. I thought it was a poor refereeing decision. It was very harsh. They scrambled in a goal and beat us by a point. I’d sooner have lost by 20. It’s hard to take.”
