A DONEGAL GOALKEEPER netted a cracking free-kick tonight in the 2016 Hughes Insurance Foyle Cup.
Bonagee United ladies ‘keeper Denise McElhinney scored her team’s first goal in a 3-0 win over Foyle Belles at Prehen.
Bonagee were award a free-kick around 35 yards out just to the right of centre. McElhinney stepped up and sailed a delightful effort high into the Foyle net.
McElhinney has been on form for the Dry Arch girls and followed up her superb goal with a couple of key saves to keep a clean sheet.
[adrotate group=”37″]Shannon McBride fired Bonagee two up before half-time after a solo run and Natalie Sweeney turned home the third from close range.
Bonagee will take on Lagan Harps tomorrow evening in the Rosebowl final at Station Road Park in St Johnston.
Goals by Ciana Brogan and Amy Boyd secured Lagan a 2-2 draw with Derry City this evening.
[adrotate group=”38″]Illies Celtic will take on Greencastle in the Plate final in Greencastle.
Illies overcame Roe Valley 5-0 this evening while Greencastle lost out to Sion 1-0.
For Illies, Lauren Cregan netted a hat-trick and Danielle Devlin and Louise Doherty were also on the mark.
The Cup final will be contested by Derry City and Sion at The Riverside Stadium in Drumahoe.
