JAMES KELLY THREW a stunning personal best on the way to winning the shot putt title a Schools International in Kent this afternoon.
The St Johnston native and Finn Valley AC man, a student at the Royal and Prior Comprehensive in Raphoe, reached out to a whopping 17.07 metres to take the gold.
[adrotate group=”39″]Kelly’s previous best was 16.86, but he topped that in style in Ashford, Kent.
Coach and father, John, mother Jacquline and sister Sarah were in attendance.
Kelly has been in fine form of late, bagging himself a Tailteann games gold when he threw 16.72.
