KILMACRENNAN’s RICHARD KERR his best weekend to date at Round 5 of the British Superbike Championships at Snetterton.
The 16-year-old finished a superb third place in race one and also posted the fastest lap of the race earning him pole position for race two.
Kerr competes in the ultra-competitive moto-star class on pure race breed machines and is hotly contested by some of Europe’s finest young riders.
After a spill in the morning’s warm up, Kerr had a good solid race two finishing in eighth place. He was running second in the early stages but dropped back after being hit by another machine from behind.
It was a great confidence booster as lady luck hasn’t been on his side in the opening rounds of the series after suffering some mechanical issues and being taken out by other riders.
[adrotate group=”70″]The team can now turn their attention to Thruxton the weekend after next knowing that Kerr has the pace and belief to be running right at the front and with a bit of luck and determination. There’s no reason why the young Kilmacrennan man can get onto that top step of the podium.
