ULSTER FINAL WEEKEND is approaching for Donegal but across the channel, a handful of the county’s emigrants will be plying their own trade on the club scene.

There will be a sprinkling of local interest in Lancashire as the home side’s goalkeeper is former St Eunan’s player Grainne O’Malley (pictured below).
This will be Oisin’s first game back at this level following their All-Britain Junior success last season where they defeated Arranmore native Paul Gallagher’s Glasgow Gaels side in a closely contested final in Leeds back in October.
The Didsbury-based side were narrowly beaten by John Mitchels (Liverpool) in last weekend’s Lancashire county final by a score of 2-7 to 1-7 and will be looking to make amends when they welcome the reigning British Intermediate champions to their home ground at Old Bedian’s.
For the visiting Connollys side, this will be the first Championship game in charge for manager Jonathan Foley, who is also a native of Letterkenny who has previously played for and managed sides at the St Eunan’s club before taking up a coaching role with the Edinburgh side.
Former inter-county player and 2010 All-Ireland Intermediate winner, Karen Feeney, will also be taking part in this occasion. The Gortahork-born forward is currently in her second season with the club.

The game itself will take place on Saturday at the Old Bedians ground in Didsbury; throw-in is 3:30pm.
