ONE OF the biggest draws in the Donegal International Rally has always been the battle of the modified drivers – and this year promises to be no different.
The three days of action begins tomorrow morning with 20 stages across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, taking in almost 300km of the most spectacular rallying stages in the world.
Den Motorsport from Maghera have sponsored a new trophy for the best modified crew this weekend. The Den Motorsport MK 2 Award goes to the highest placed MK2 Escort.
Cavan’s Jonathan Pringle won the Donegal Mini Stages Rally in January and has never done a three-day event, but will be one of thise aiming to be in the shake-up.
[adrotate group=”11″]Letterkenny duo Brendan McDaid and Karl Reid, Moy’s Frank Kelly and Adrian Hetherington from Dungannon were all at the Mount Errigal Hotel this morning where the new trophy was unveiled.
Beatsons Building Supplies, Den Motorsport, Donald Brown, Calum Duffy and James MacGillivray, in association with the Mull Rally, are offering the leading Irish crewed Escort MKII the opportunity to compete in the Mull Rally in October.
The winners of the Den MK2 award wins a free entry to the Beatsons Building Supplies Isle of Mull Rally 2016 (includes accommodation for four and ferry travel). The Isle of Mull Rally takes place from October 14-16.
