NO DONEGAL SIDE has ever reached six consecutive Ulster SFC finals.
For four years under Jim McGuinness, Donegal reached the provincial decider – winning the Anglo Celt Cup in 2011, 2012 and 2014. Last year was Rory Gallagher’s first in charge and his side too reached the final, only to lose to Monaghan by a single point in Clones.
[adrotate group=”66″]Donegal’s five finals in succession matched the side from 1989 to 1993, who won Ulster in 1990 and 1992 – the same year they won Sam Maguire for the first time.
In the Allianz League Division 1 this year, Donegal opened brightly with three wins from three but then lost five on the bounce. That said, Gallagher’s side still reached the semi-finals of the competition.
