STEPHEN STAUNTON will be the Cavern’s special guest for the Republic of Ireland’s opening Euro 2016 clash with Sweden on Monday, June 13.
Staunton, who played 102 times for Ireland between 1988 and 2002, also managed by Boys in Green in 2006 and 2007.
The Cavern will have a full day of entertainment as Martin O’Neill’s Ireland take on Sweden, with the action from the Stade de France in Paris beamed live at 5pm in 18 High Definition Screens at Donegal’s No1 Sports Bar & Party Venue at 46 Lower Main Street, Letterkenny.

Throughout the course of the day there will be a DJ, a live band, pizza, barbecue and finger food. Staunton will provide analysis both before the game and afterwards.
Staunton played in three World Cup finals for Ireland – in 1990 when Jack Charlton’s side reached the quarter-finals and in 1994 and then 2002 when Ireland made the last 16.
He enjoyed two spells at both Liverpool and Aston Villa as a player, winning the FA Cup in 1989 and then the 1989/90 league title at Anfield, as well as being a two-time League Cup winner in 1994 and 1996 at Aston Villa.
