YOU’VE PICKED STEPHEN GRIFFIN as your Anthony Conaghan Cars Player of the week.
The St Naul’s player – who lined out at midfield last week against Four Masters – topped the poll with 128 votes, to take the award from Bundoran’s Christy Keaney and Naomh Conaill forward John O’Malley.
Griffin (pictured above by Geraldine Diver) has long since been the cutting edge for St Naul’s but on Sunday last in a frantic derby clash against Four Masters, the 28-year-old was employed at centre-field. However, Griffin still put in a massive personal performance for the Mountcharles side and left with 1-8 to his name in a 1-10 to 1-10 draw. Griffin’s excellence ensured that his team came from six points down at half-time to share the spoils.
