COCKHILL CELTIC PLAYER-MANAGER Gavin Cullen admitted he was convinced that Garbhan Friel would find the net today.
The Inishowen side won the Donegal News League Cup this evening at Dry Arch Park when two Friel goals helped Cockhill defeat Letterkenny Rovers 2-0.
[adrotate group=”68″]The triumph meant Cockhill finished the season with a domestic treble – having already won the Knockalla Caravans Cup final and the Ulster Senior League.
“It was a poor, poor game,” Cullen said. “The way the game started, it was bitty and the teams took time to settle. In the second half we were disappointing. But it’s a cup final and if you win it then you win it.
[adrotate group=”67”]“Garbhan has everything in his locker and long may it continue. He came back to us (from Finn Harps) fitter and faster. But I said this week to him that I could see he was back. I said it in the dressing room before the game that Garbhan would score today. He might score two or might score three. I just felt he would.”
