PAT FENLON WANTS his Shamrock Rovers to give their season a kick-start when they host Finn Harps tomorrow at Tallaght Stadium.
The Hoops go into the game sitting joint third in the table with Derry City, but are ten points adrift of the leaders, Dundalk.
Rovers comfortably defeated Midleton 4-0 last weekend in the FAI Senior Cup, but lost their last League outing, a shock 2-0 defeat to Wexford Youths.
“We need to be more consistent in the league,” Fenlon said.
[adrotate group=”43″]“Going into that Wexford game I think we had 75% of our games won and that’s madness when you think about it.
“We can’t be losing games, if we’re not going to win, we have to at least make sure we’re picking up points.
“We have to kick on now and win five or six of our next few games, we need to go on a run of good form.”
Rovers are without Gavin Brennan and David Webster while Harps will be missing the suspended Barry Molloy.
[adrotate group=”50″]Harps are looking to stop the rot following a wretched sequence of results, 7-0 and 4-0 League losses to Dundalk and St Patrick’s Athletic having been followed by a defeat by Leinster Senior League side Crumlin United last Saturday.
Rovers won the last meeting of the teams as Gary McCabe’s penalty handed them a 1-0 win at Finn Park in March.
Fenlon said: “They’ll come here and make it hard for us.
[adrotate group=”69″]“We have to improve our position in the league and we have a chance to do that on Sunday, Harps got a few tough beatings the last few games so they’ll be out to make it hard for us.
“We went up there early in the season and they made it hard for us to get the win, bit of a scrappy win, so I’m expecting nothing different.”
