AILEACH GOALKEEPER JOHN ROULSTONE didn’t have much time to celebrate their Cup final success last night, having to make a dash this morning to play in Europe!
Roulstone kept a clean sheet as Aileach defeated QPS 2-0 in the Buncrana Credit Union Cup final at Maginn Park last night, goals from James Gillespie and Caoimhghin McFeely sealing the title.
But instead of celebrating the win with Mickey Barr’s team, Roulstone was instead turning his mind to a trip to Poland today to play in a European Championships.
The Raphoe native was on an early-morning flight from Belfast to Poland, via London Gatwick, to join up with work colleagues from the Kirchoff plant in Letterkenny.
The team is taking part in the Kirchoff European Soccer Championships in Poland and will be playing colleagues from Portugal, Hungary, Romania, Poland and Germany.
The rest of the team from Kirchoff Letterkenny flew out yesterday. Roulstone is joined on the team by John McFadden, Manus McFadden, Oisin Kelly, Eunan Cullen, Mick Martin and John Smyth.
The squad has expressed their thanks to Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure in Letterkenny for providing their tracksuits. Pictured above are members of the squad receiving their tracksuits from Tony McNamee of Michael Murphy Sports & Leisure.
