AILEACH MANAGER MICKEY BARR hopes that the Lakeside men can regroup over the summer and bring a renewed focus to next season.
Last season, Aileach were beaten by Glengad United in a play-off to decide the Premier Division winners, but by the time John Gerard McLaughlin was presented with the trophy last weekend, Aileach were 19 points behind.
“It’s a great end to the season,” Barr said.
“We had a poor season with a lot of injuries, but it’s nice to get something. We were the better side even if the second half didn’t show it.
[adrotate group=”62″]“It’s great to finish the season like this. It’s very rewarding.
“We’ll look to bring more young players on board. It’s just getting the boys out and getting them to commit. It’s a competitive League. This is every bit as good a standard as the Ulster Senior League.”
[adrotate group=”37″]QPS goalkeeper Jordan McLaughlin made two fabulous saves early on to deny Ronan Coyle and Dermot Doherty.
Barr said: “I thought it was going to be one of those nights. I thought our name wasn’t going to be on it.”
