AODH RUADH CONTINUED their 100 per cent record in the AllSportStore.com Division 3 with victory over Letterkenny Gaels in an entertaining encounter.

The visitors opened the scoring in the second minute when a Shane Graham ’45 was flicked on by Shane McGlade and the Aodh Ruadh ‘keeper Peter Boyle (pictured above) did well to tip over the bar.
Aodh Ruadh’s response was swift and David Dolan kicked two points in the third and fifth minutes. David McGurren and Seamus Kane then hit two goals in the sixth and seventh minutes as they ran through the Gaels defence.
The Letterkenny men responded with a John Doran goal on nine minutes after good build up play from Gaels full forward Conor McBrearty. The Aodh Ruadh men came back down the field and Philip Patton pointed neatly.
The visitors continued their grip on the game with two scores from Mark Hunter and McBrearty who was now becoming a handful for the Aodh Rua defence.
Seamus Kane eased matters for the home team with another excellent score to put the hosts four points up but Gaels then hit a purple patch with points from McBrearty, Hunter, Paddy Doherty and McBrearty again to level matters by the 25th minute.
[adrotate group=”48″]Aodh Ruadh made some adjustments in defence and finished out an excellent first half of football with points from Dolan and Johnny Gethins.
The second half started with Aodh Rua’s Dolan pointing a free in the 32nd minute and David McGurren put the hosts four up in the 39th minute.
McBrearty brought it back to the goal between them on 44 minutes but the home team replied with scores from Dolan, McGurren and Diarmaid McInerney to put the six up with eight minutes left.
The Gaels continued to work and McBrearty hit three frees to bring the game back to a single score. One of the frees was tipped over the bar by the excellent Peter Boyle as the Gaels full forward went for the goal. Shane McGlade had a late penalty claim and the hosts picked up two black guards late on to hold on for victory.
