THREE JUVENILE DONEGALÂ fighters won medals on Saturday at the prestigious Irish National ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) Championship which were held in Tallaght, Dublin.
The ADCC Submission Wrestling Championship is a renowned worldwide competition involving athletes who train and have been successful at jiu-jitsu, wrestling, judo, sambo, and mixed martial arts.

The rules of the event disallow strikes , but while promoting full contact grappling and submissions moves, such as blood chokes, armbars, leglocks, anklelocks, and other submission techniques.Many top MMA /UFC fighters have taken part and won in these prestigious events.
[adrotate group=”38″]The three competitor’s results were Conor McMenamin, who won gold in the Boys 11-14 year-old 36kg Division; Danny McMenamin won silver in the Boys 7- 10 year old 32kg Division and Tommy McMenamin won bronze in the Boys 7- 10 year old 36kg Division .
This was was their first outing in a No-Gi submission grappling tournament, and the three brothers have been training for three years in BJJ with Rilion Gracie BJJ/MMA Academy in Old Town Letterkenny, under their Instructor Brian Coyle. The gym is the country’s only full-time martials and MMA gym.
Tommy and Conor recently won gold and silver medals respectively at the Irish Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Open, which was held at DCU on April 2.
The three brothers are Convoy natives, and their father TJ McMenamin also recently won double gold medals at the start of April at the IBJJF No-Gi European Jiu Jitsu Championship held in Rome, Italy.
TJ also trains out of the Rilion Gracie BJJ/MMA Academy. The three brothers also train at TwinTowns Boxing Club, where their father TJ is the Vice President. Three future MMA stars in the rising.
