SO AFTER 1,209 votes being cast, this week’s Anthony Conaghan Cars Player of the Week has been named.
The winner with a fantastic 338 votes is Conor O’Donnell (pictured above, No 15) from Letterkenny – a clubman of St Eunan’s – who starred in the colours of St Eunan’s College.
In second place this week was Stephen Mulligan from MacCumhaill’s – a player in a rich vein of form having scored 3-14 in his last two outings. Mulligan picked up 270 votes.
Then, in third place, was JD Boyle from Naomh Conaill and Donegal minors, who has performed consistently throughout the Ulster Minor League for Shaun Paul Barrett’s team and he got 158 votes.
IN the Treanor Cup semi-final on Tuesday at a windy Garvahey, O’Donnell played a huge part in St Eunan’s 3-10 to 0-3 win over St Ronan’s from Lurgan. The corner-forward scored 1-3 in all, including 1-2 against the wind in the first half – the only St Eunan’s player to score in that period – and then a sweetly-hit 45 and also had a hand in both his team’s second half goals, with Dylan Doogan and Daragh Ellison finding the net.
