THE DONEGAL UNDER-15 boys won the UK Sportshall finals in Manchester yesterday.
It is the first time that the Donegal boys have ever won the overall prize. In 1996 and 1997 the Donegal girls team won the overall prize in their competition.
Yesterday at Sportcity in Manchester, the Donegal team went to the top of the podium.
Gerry Davenport was the team manager and the victorious Donegal team was: Pauric Harrold, Liam Keane, Thomas Mullen Junior, Aaron McGrath, Lughan Devenney, John Boyle and Joe Gillespie.
Donegal edged out Birmingham and Berkshire who came second and third respectively.
Thomas Mullen Junior won the all-rounder event, which is for the best overall athlete.
On Saturday, Donegal’s under-13 girls came in fifth whule the under-13 boys finished in eighth.
